Notes
Author of the great coat of arms of the Lithuania Minor region Arvydas Každailis Lithuania Minor is a unique ethnographic region of Lithuania; a land of wind and sands of the lagoon, where songs and stories were ever present in the lives of its people. The historical land of the Baltic peoples between the Pregola River and the lower reaches of the Nemunas River has always existed as a gateway to the world, where different cultures intertwine, and a distinctive spirit prevails. Unique folk songs were born here, along with the region’s rich printing tradition and book smugglers, which helped to preserve the Lithuanian tongue in even the most trying circumstances. Lithuania Minor charms with its unique historical legacy and a lively vision of a bright future
